Located in the centre of Batumi, just 200 m from the Black Sea coast, Hilton Batumi is a pet-friendly 5-star hotel offering a modern interior design and high-quality facilities. Dolphinarium is 300 m from the hotel and Europe Square is 900 m away.

We booked this 5-star Hilton Batumi hotel for a 3-night stay at the end of May 2021 and paid about GEL 2400 / USD 772.

Price included a junior suite executive room with excellent views from the 19th floor, access to the executive lounge for some light snacks, a salty swimming pool, gym, and some more perks (breakfast), as we arrived in Batumi by plane, we didn't have to concern about parking.

In the past, we have stayed in many Batumi hotels, but from the 5star I should mention Batumi Radisson and Paragraph hotel in Skhekvetili. Hilton Batumi is something in Between. Frankly speaking, I liked Radisson more, but this is just my personal opinion. They all are great hotels, with great service.

Each modern room here is air-conditioned and carpeted and features a flat-screen TV with satellite channels. A minibar and an electric kettle are at guests' disposal. Featuring a shower or a bath, private bathrooms in each unit come with free toiletries as well as a hairdryer, linen and towels. Extras include a desk, a safety deposit box and a laptop safe. Certain rooms have a balcony offering a lake, mountain or a sea view. Interconnected rooms, convenient for families and not only, are also available on site.

The hotel offers certain rooms with access to the Executive Lounge, which serves a delicious buffet breakfast, refreshments throughout the day and evening canapés. At Hilton Batumi guests can enjoy À la carte restaurant serving local and European cuisine.

Free coca colas and oranfe juices. They also have a happy hours wirh some stronger drinks. 

Sauna, steam rooms and fitness as well as spa and wellness centre and a swimming pool will be at guests' disposal. Shared areas such as casino, sun terrace and designated playground for children are available. Hilton Batumi also provides guests with complimentary sun loungers, umbrellas and beach towels. On-site library and daily complimentary newspaper can be enjoyed at Hilton Batumi.

24-hour front desk with staff speaking English, Russian, German, French, Serbian and Turkish languages will welcome and assist guests. Bicycle rental can be arranged at the hotel.

Batumi and Green Cape

Another awesome weekend has been in our tapes - this time we booked a Tbilisi - Batumi flight by Vanilla Sky (it's super cheap and takes only 50 minutes to get there), a 5-star Hilton Hotel with executive views + gym and saltwater pool access.

Visited Green Cape + Botanical garden. Pink ice cream is still our favorite. Made a ton of hyper lapses and experimented with keyframing (fast forward in Adobe Premiere).

Trading Crypto Currency using MA Crossover + RSI Strategy

In this article, I will share details on how I configured Trality crypto trading bot for trading ADA and XLM coins with Moving Averages crossovers and RSI indicators

Originally I launched this algorithm trading bot in mid-May 2021, by setting it up to sell EUR-XLM pair based on RSI strategy, a bit later I added ADA coin to this setup, but then I noticed that the bot has used all buying power to purchase only ADA coins, which is not what I actually wanted and here I decided I need to fine-tune some settings, defining that only 50% can go in purchasing one coin.

Further, I fine-tuned this bot to trade with RSI+STOCH indicators, but after a steep drop in the market, when the bot did quite opposite it should (buy high, sell low) I decided to fine-tune further, and this time I looked on Moving averages crossover + RSI

Here are my settings for this algo trading bot:

here is a backtest for the last 30 days (25.04.2021-25.05/2021)

Backtest looks good, actually much more better than using the RSI method alone. from the above chart I like completely all entry and exit points. There are some missed parts in the chart, but with the 37.75% return I guess there is nothing much to complain

To make this experiment transparent I decided I will run this bot for the next 30 days with EUR 150 invested, and will not change any settings.

• A good result will be: EUR 151
• Very good result: EUR 200 and more 

In case bot will turn out a successfully money printing machine, I will evaluate the bot performance over the last 30 days, fine tune some settings if necessary, and will double up - and invest the same amount of money the total value of bots. In case the bot will lose money, I will evaluate the bot performance, look for loopholes and improvements.

Also I will compare how the bot trading stood against simple buy and hold

On May 25, 2021 we could buy 58.13 ADA coin and 204.69 XLM coin

Backtesting XLM-EUR RSI Strategy with Trality

For the past couple of days, I've been testing Trality crypto trading bot, executing a few trades.  I must say - I feel very impressed with what this bot can do, if you are new to Trality, see my brief review here: Simple Crypto Trading Bot From Trality

As I like testing and implementing ideas, in today's article I'm going to talk about the Relative Strength Index (RSI) and its usage in crypto trades. I believe RSI is one of the easiest ways to trade crypto. Not 100% proof, but a good starting point for sure. In fact, this is the one and only I understand the most.

The relative strength index (RSI) is a momentum indicator developed by noted technical analyst Welles Wilder, that compares the magnitude of recent gains and losses over a specified time period to measure speed and change of price movements of a security. It is primarily used to attempt to identify overbought or oversold conditions in the trading of an asset.

Backtesting XLM-EUR

I decided to build my trading universe with one coin only, in the normal circumstances I would probably take BTC or ETH, but this time I wanted to take another approach and went with an altcoin - XLM or Stellar Lumens

Here are my strategy settings:

• Action: BUY RSI Candle size 1h, oversold 38
• Action: SELL RSI Candle size 1h, overbought 45

Let's start backtesting for the last 24 hours (1d)

There were no trades done in the last 24 hours, which is fair I guess. Bot just needs more time

Let's try backtesting with the pat 3 days

Now, this is quite awesome, we were able to generate 15% return in just 3 days, while buy and hold was losing -1.27% meantime

Let's have data for the past 7 days

Also, quite impressive. 10 trades in 7 days with 21% return, while Buy and Hold having 14.12%.

Look at the entry points, bot have missed a good part from the chart, but I still like it

Lets push for 30 days

Bot just keeps nailing it. If I were investing 100 EUR one month ago, I would made a nice 24.88 EUR profit in 30 days. That again beats the buy and hold (14.20%)\

How about 3m backtesting?

Ok, here buy and hold beats bot, and beats it quite impressive

How about 6-month backtesting?

I guess no bot can beat 662% return in just 6 months. though I believe with some little tuning we could drastically improve bots' performance too.

Now let's push it harder and check the last 12 months (1 year)

76% annual yield looks pathetic compared to the 725% yield buy just holding the assets

What do all these data tell us?

• in all scenarios bot was profitable
• bot showed better trading results in 30 days and started lagging behind in 3 months
• the bot was not able to catch spikes, it missed them in most cases

What shall we do next?

I guess it would be smart to start to investigate what happened with 3 month data and play with settings (change oversold, overbought values), also different candle size levels should change performance.

Here I adjusted RSI values a bit:

• Action: BUY RSI Candle size 1h, oversold 33
• Action: SELL RSI Candle size 1h, overbought 50

Adjusting RSI to improve performance

With a little tweaking algorithm helped to increase yield to 50% while cutting trades by half. Quite impressive.

I also helped to increase profit to 112% for 6-month trading.

The more i tested I realize, the test is pretty viable for up to 3 month trading period, and thats why i decided i will stick with my initial settings and will let this bot run for the next 30 days.

In Conclusion

Backtesting shows some great results, but there is one huge BUT - the market was pretty bullish for the last 12 months, and more testing should be done to understand how algorithm will react in down trending market conditions.

I;ve connected this bot wth my Coinbase Pro Account and ready to experiment with above listed RSI settings for the next 30 days! I'll keep you posted.

At the start of April 2021, after a 6-month absence, we finally returned back to Georgia. One of the things we wanted to do - as many quick day trips as possible.

Investing in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania with Baltic Horizon Fund REIT

Baltic Horizon Fund is a regulated closed-end contractual investment fund registered in Estonia. The fund is traded on Tallinn (Nasdaq Baltics)  and Stockholm stock exchanges.

This fund operates under the REIT concept where the vast majority of Fund’s cash earnings are paid and only 20% can be reinvested.

On May 12, I bought some humble 100 shares with Baltic Horizon Fund from my local SEB bank broker in Latvia.

I've been investing with this fund since 2018, I really like this REIT, because it has quarterly dividend payments (rare in the Baltic) and the dividend yield is pretty high of some 4.5% annually.

• Why I'm Investing in Baltic Horizon Fund (NHCBHFFT)

I was holding this fund until the start of 2020 but was forced to sell it at the start of Pandemic to cover losses in my US brokerage account where I was facing margin calls. Following words I said when sold it:

I sold because I was facing rough times in my US broker account, I just needed to deposit additional cash to close my negative balance and avoid further margin calls

As said, I'm very sad seeing Baltic Horizon Fund leaving my portfolio now, and I'm looking to take back some shares in the future (hopefully with the same lower prices)

Hello! My name is Reinis Fischer and you're watching my YouTube channel, where I talk about stock investments, options trading, and finance in general.

Today is May 12, 2021 and I'm going to talk about my investments in the Baltic states, yeah there are three small countries -  Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. And as I'm from Latvia-  I like to invest in those countries.

There's actually the NASDAQ Baltic stock exchange, this is not a very liquid market but for small investors, with a couple of hundred Euros or a couple of thousands of Euros, it's a pretty good market.  You're not going to lose your money, you're not going to lose your shirt because. like there are no, well probably there are some volatile stocks, but mostly since I have been investing in the Baltic market it has been a good experience.

Right, I will talk about one company I like a lot in the Baltic states, and the company's name is Baltic Horizon Fund. I have been investing with this fund for two or three years I like this company because it's like one of the only REITs in the Baltic states, well there are some other and they also listed on the NASDAQ Baltic stock exchange. But this is quite an awesome and transparent REIT, which operates in a commercial space like they own some shopping centers.  like in Riga they have Galerija Centrs and in Tallinn, they have some and in Vilnius.

When talking about REIT's in North America I'm not so satisfied but when talking about commercial REIT's in the Baltic States, I see that there is some potential for the next five to ten years because in five to ten years, I think this is going to be completely different as it is now. but for right now this is a good way to invest in the Baltic states.

The share price is really cheap, it's like one euro on 18 cents you can if you use the local brokers like SEB bank. I am paying like one euro commission. Commissions are low. well if I'm buying just a hundred shares - it will be one percent but if I'm buying like thousand shares the commissions are good with the local brokers. You can actually buy these stocks via the Interactive Brokers platform but I checked the commissions are much higher it's like 13 Euros buying stocks in the Baltic so this is something NASDAQ Baltic should solve to attract more foreign investors.

What else I like about the Baltic Horizon Fund it's like it's paying a quarterly dividend,  back in  2019 the dividend yield was about some eight percent annually,  the same was in 2020. I guess. but right now the yield dropped about some four and a half percent annual yield, which is still very awesome

I like the stock price s like, I bought 100 shares today and it turns out I bought them just a day before the ex-div date, tomorrow the stock is going x dividend and I will get this small dividend, I will get about one euro, I will get like one euro dividend from my little investment, but that's quite awesome uh i think we can see some the stock has dropped like from its all-time highs 1 euro 30 cents to 1 euro 20 right now I believe this is a fair price and I believe in a year or you know two years we will see some, we should see some gains but as I don't know what's going to happen, i have decided I will invest in this company no matter what, as i will keep buying once in a month 100 shares no matter their price using the so-called dollar or  euro cost averaging method and let's see how it's going to go and yeah

In the past I have held more than 20 Baltic stocks, right now I'm holding just this one plus I am investing in some SEB bank mutual funds but that's another story

On May 12, 2021, I bought a small amount of XLM - Stellar Lumens crypto coin from Coinbase - I decided to invest in this coin for the next 12 month, once in a month buying coins and spending about USD 50 on that (monthly)

What do we know about Stellar Lumens crypto coin?

Stellar, or Stellar Lumens, is an open source, decentralized protocol for digital currency to fiat money transfers which allows cross-border transactions between any pair of currencies. The Stellar protocol is supported by a Delaware nonprofit corporation, the Stellar Development Foundation, though this organization does not enjoy 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status with the IRS

It seems we are in a bubble now, and most probably stellar coin is going to pop (just like the rest of the crypto), but if not, we are going to enjoy the ride. 

Remember invest only what you can afford to lose. From throwing USD 50/mo * 12 seems fair, and here is the thing I have found from my short 4 years experience with crypto - dollar-cost averaging works the best. I wouldn't rush now to put tens of thousands in Stellar Lumen as a lump sum, instead of dollar cost averaging once in a month.

I started with the classics – Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Litecoin on Coinbase. I even tried my hand at mining Ethereum for a while, but, as they say, all good things must come to an end when the market takes a dip.

Now, my crypto strategy is more about the long game – buy, hold, and let the market do its thing. I've had some wins in the past, and today, I found myself with some free capital itching to be invested.

Bitcoin ETF: A Game-Changer

I'm eagerly awaiting the arrival of the Bitcoin ETF, set to be listed on either the New York Stock Exchange or Nasdaq. Once that happens, I plan to dive into options trading with the ETF. Fingers crossed, we might see the ETF hit the market in 2021. The anticipation has been building since 2017, and I believe it could be a game-changer for crypto enthusiasts like myself.

Stellar Lumens: A New Venture

But let's shift our focus to today's crypto pick – Stellar Lumens. Now, I'll be honest; I don't know much about Stellar Lumens, but that's the beauty of the crypto world. Just look at Dogecoin – started as a joke, and now Elon Musk is tweeting about it.

I've decided to put 50 euros into Stellar Lumens, and I plan to repeat this monthly for the next 12 months. It's a journey into the unknown, but that's what makes crypto intriguing. Will Stellar Lumens reach one euro or one dollar? Who knows! Could it hit ten dollars? The possibilities are endless, just like Bitcoin's journey from three thousand to sixty thousand in a few months.

Reflecting on Missed Opportunities

Speaking of missed opportunities, I can't help but cringe at the memory of selling my Ethereum coins for a fraction of their current value. Ethereum is now trading at around four thousand dollars, and I sold them for a mere two to three hundred bucks each. Lesson learned – crypto has its ups and downs, but it's a world of potential gains.

In the crypto realm, anything can happen. It's a rollercoaster ride with the potential for both gains and losses. So, why not throw in a little money – say, 50 dollars? It's a small investment that could turn into something significant.

Zedazeni monastery

Zedazeni Monastery is a Georgian Orthodox monastery, located on the Zedazeni mountain the hills of Saguramo, northeast to Mtskheta, and to the east side of the Aragvi River.

There is a pretty steep but good-quality road heading to the monastery complex from the Saguramo village. This could actually be the very awesome route for hiking - Saguramo - Zedazeni monastery.

We first visited Zedazeni monastery in early April 2021, despite we have been quite a few times at the Saguramo village, there is a nice hotel with an open-air pool located in Saguramo, see Sevsamora Resort & Spa

The monastery was founded by Saint John, one of the Holy Assyrian Fathers of Georgia whose mission was to strengthen Christianity in the region.
