At the start of 2025, during a short stay in New Delhi, I had the pleasure of discovering Qavalli Aerocity Indian Restaurant. Located in the vibrant Aerocity area, this dining spot stands out for its inviting ambiance and mouthwatering Indian cuisine.
As someone who follows a primarily vegan diet but still enjoys fish occasionally, I was eager to see how the menu catered to my preferences—and it did not disappoint.

Paired with a simple yet perfectly prepared bowl of steamed rice, the combination was nothing short of marvelous. Every bite was a celebration of bold flavors and expert cooking techniques, leaving me thoroughly impressed.
What makes Qavalli Aerocity even more appealing is its welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant's décor is stylish yet cozy, creating an ideal setting for both casual lunches and special dinners. My first experience there has certainly left me eager to return on future visits to the city.

Nestled in the vibrant streets of Calangute in North Goa (Holiday street), Eternal Boutique is a delightful store that exudes charm and creativity. Discovered during our first trip to India in late 2023/early 2024, this boutique quickly became a favorite for its unique selection of dresses and accessories. It’s not just a store; it’s an experience that lingers long after you leave Goa.
The boutique is run by Dolma, a warm and welcoming lady from Tibet, who manages the store with her sister. Dolma’s gracious personality and keen eye for fashion make Eternal Boutique a standout in a sea of shops. Her expertise in curating beautiful, high-quality dresses and accessories ensures that every item in the store feels special and thoughtfully chosen.
During our first visit, my partner was so captivated by the boutique’s offerings that she purchased several dresses. Each piece was not only stunning but also unique, showcasing the artistry and craftsmanship that Dolma and her sister bring to their work. It was clear that Eternal Boutique was more than just a business for them; it was a labor of love.
When we planned our second trip to Goa at the end of 2024, one thing was certain: a visit to Eternal Boutique was non-negotiable. True to expectation, Dolma greeted us with the same kindness and enthusiasm. My partner eagerly added more dresses to her collection, each one as exquisite as the last. The boutique has a way of making you feel like you’re discovering treasures that are uniquely yours.
What sets Eternal Boutique apart, beyond the beautiful items, is Dolma herself. Her friendly demeanor and willingness to connect with her customers make shopping a pleasure. For those who fall in love with her designs but cannot make it to Goa, Dolma makes it easy to stay in touch. She can be contacted via WhatsApp, allowing customers to order her creations from anywhere in the world. This personal touch speaks volumes about her dedication to ensuring her customers feel valued and stylish.
Eternal Boutique is not just a store; it’s a reflection of Dolma’s passion for fashion and her commitment to providing a memorable shopping experience. If you ever find yourself in Calangute, a visit to Eternal Boutique is a must. You’ll not only leave with beautiful dresses and accessories but also with the memory of meeting a remarkable woman who turns fashion into an art form.
Prego & Hava Nagila: Kakheti, Kutaisi, and a Quick Riga Escape
| Living in Georgia | 35 seen
Our latest adventures in Kakheti (September 2024) are out, and it’s been a mix of good vibes, great food, and even better wine! From exploring Kakheti to a spontaneous solo trip to Riga, there’s plenty to share.
Let’s start in Kakheti. We kicked things off with fresh ponchiki (basically Georgian beignets) from the Telavi market – fried, fluffy, and irresistible. There was no shortage of Saperavi wine, thanks to Hotel Serodani, where lazy afternoons by the pool turned into evenings of pure relaxation. We skipped the Shukashvili dance performance at the Tsinandali Music Festival (next time!), but the charm of the region kept us busy with vineyard views and good company.
After that, it was back to Tbilisi and then Kutaisi, where I hopped on a Georgian bus – always an adventure in itself – to make our way to Riga via Wizzair. Riga was a quick but memorable two-day escape, packed with beautiful architecture, Baltic vibes, and plenty of DIY.
Oh, and let’s not forget the random fun we had back home with Karcher and Depo – cleaning, fixing, and just making life a little more organized. It’s not all glamorous, but it’s real.
The video’s out now, so check it out, drop a like, and let me know what you think. Cheers to the next adventure!
Christmas Eve at Palolem Beach: Fire Shows, Old Monk
| | 90 seen
While we just celebrated Orthodox Christmas in Georgia, I can’t help but delve into the memories of our Western Christmas last year (2024), spent on the serene shores of Palolem Beach in Goa, India. That evening was magical in every way, filled with vibrant energy, beautiful scenery, and a new discovery that made the night unforgettable.
Palolem Beach is a place that transforms as the day turns into night. By day, it’s a tranquil haven lined with sunbeds and shaded spots to relax. But as the sun sets, the beach takes on a whole new persona. The sunbeds disappear, and café tables adorned with lit candles are brought out, creating a warm and enchanting ambiance. The entire shoreline glows with flickering lights, making it a perfect spot to soak in the festive spirit.
We found ourselves at the Royal Touch Café, one of the many inviting spots on the beach, just as the fire shows were starting. The performers, local entertainers with incredible skill and flair, put on a dazzling display of spinning and twirling flames against the backdrop of the dark sea. Their energy and passion lit up the night, drawing cheers and applause from the crowd. After each performance, they moved around eagerly collecting tips, and it felt good to support their art, knowing how much effort they poured into creating such a captivating show.
Adding to the atmosphere, perfect music drifted from the bar—a blend of soft classics and nostalgic tunes that took us back in time. It was as if the playlist was crafted to complement the gentle waves and flickering candlelight. The music, combined with the fire shows and the candlelit tables, created a sensory experience that was both relaxing and enchanting.
To elevate the evening further, we decided to try Old Monk rum—a drink we’d heard so much about but never had the chance to taste. The bartender at Royal Touch Café was incredibly kind and agreed to sell us the entire bottle for 770 Indian Rupees. Paired with Coke, the Old Monk was an instant favorite. Its warm, spiced flavors and smooth sweetness were the perfect companions for the festive mood.
It wasn’t until later that night that I learned the same bottle could be purchased for just 220 Rupees at a local shop! While I felt a twinge of regret for not buying more, the experience of enjoying it at Royal Touch Café, with the fire shows and music, made it worth every extra rupee. Old Monk quickly became one of my favorite drinks in India, and I wished I’d brought more bottles home
Christmas Eve at Palolem Beach was more than just a night out—it was a celebration of life, simplicity, and the small joys that make travel so rewarding. The glow of candlelit tables, the artistry of the fire performers, the timeless music, and the warmth of Old Monk created a memory I’ll cherish forever. For anyone visiting Goa during the holidays, Palolem Beach is an experience not to be missed.

Of course, no adventure is complete without a little indulgence. We popped open a bottle of Prosecco and toasted to the beautiful Black Sea coastline and the memories we were creating. The shimmering waters and golden sands served as the perfect backdrop for a relaxing moment with friends.
One of the highlights of our trip was the stay at the Paragraph Resort & Spa Shekvetili, a true jewel in the Autograph Collection. Known for its modern architecture, serene ambiance, and a one-of-a-kind seawater pool that stretches into the horizon, the resort provided a luxurious retreat. Whether lounging by the pool or exploring the local flavors at the resort's restaurant, every moment was pure bliss.
Why Adjara?
This region is more than just picturesque beaches and luxurious resorts. It’s a place where Georgian hospitality meets cultural richness and natural beauty. Batumi’s vibrant city life, coupled with the tranquil charm of Shekvetili, makes it a destination worth visiting again and again.
We’ve captured all these moments and more in our short documentary. From the soaring views during our Vanilla Sky flight to the laughter and joy of toboggan rides, cycling adventures, and clinking glasses of Prosecco, this film is a celebration of Adjara’s magic.
We hope it inspires you to pack your bags and experience the wonders of Adjara for yourself. Until our next journey, cheers!
Charles Bridge: A Timeless Landmark in Prague
| Tourism objects | 71 seen
The Charles Bridge (Karlův most) in Prague is one of the most iconic and historic landmarks in Europe.
Built in the 14th century under the reign of King Charles IV, this Gothic stone bridge spans the Vltava River, connecting Prague's Old Town with the Lesser Town (Malá Strana). Adorned with a series of 30 Baroque statues and surrounded by stunning views of Prague Castle and the city's skyline, the bridge is a timeless symbol of the Czech capital.
In mid-October 2024, I had the opportunity to visit this celebrated monument during a week-long business trip to Prague. After spending the morning exploring the fascinating Jewish Quarter, our group decided to spend an afternoon at Charles Bridge. The walk from the Jewish Quarter to the bridge was an easy and scenic journey, filled with glimpses of Prague's medieval charm.
Arriving at Charles Bridge, we found it bustling with life. Crowds of tourists and street performers filled the historic stone pathway, creating a lively atmosphere. Despite the crowds, the experience was enchanting. The bridge offered breathtaking views of the Vltava River, flanked by the city's architectural wonders.
Each statue on the bridge seemed to tell its own story, with many visitors stopping to take photographs or touch the statue of St. John of Nepomuk—a tradition believed to bring good luck. The bridge’s history and craftsmanship left a lasting impression, and it was easy to see why this site continues to captivate millions of visitors each year.
The visit was a highlight of the trip, offering a unique glimpse into Prague's cultural and historical essence. Even in its bustling atmosphere, Charles Bridge remains a serene and inspiring place—a must-see for anyone visiting the "City of a Hundred Spires."
Mushrooms / Hiking / Halloween
| Living in Georgia | 41 seen
In this video, we’re taking you on a family hike near Tsodoreti Lake, revisiting a place I first encountered back in June 2024 during a challenging Tbilisi Trails race. While I ran the tough 10K route, my partner and our kid took on a gentler 7K, and together we were captivated by the lake’s unique charm and dense, wild forests.
This autumn, as the forest transformed with vibrant amber and crimson shades, we returned with baskets in hand to see if Tsodoreti’s woods were as perfect for mushroom foraging as my partner had suggested. Starting our hunt, we found a few interesting specimens, like Deer Mushrooms, and identified them with the help of apps. Technology gave us real-time insights, helping us understand each species as we explored.
Our kid’s excitement added a playful energy to the day. With every mushroom discovery, they’d dash over to show us, sometimes “losing” their finds along the way! Later, we settled near the lake, taking in peaceful views of Tbilisi’s suburbs and enjoying the crisp, fresh air.
The adventure didn’t stop there—we spent the evening preparing for Halloween! The mushrooms set a perfect woodland mood, making this outing feel even more connected to the fall season.
For anyone near Tbilisi seeking an escape, Tsodoreti Lake offers a wonderful blend of nature, adventure, and the perfect inspiration for seasonal festivities.
Hotel Belvedere Prague: A Practical Stay with Easy Access
| Hotel reviews | 47 seen
During our recent trip to Prague in mid-October 2024, we stayed at Hotel Belvedere. My partner attended the MEET Central Europe Translators conference, and we were joined by one of our office employees, so we opted to book two rooms.
While the hotel might seem a bit outdated at first glance, its reasonable rates and convenient location made it a solid choice for our needs.
Hotel Belvedere sits in a prime spot with a range of conveniences nearby. While we primarily used Bolt taxis to navigate Prague, the tram station just around the corner gave us an alternative when we wanted to explore local neighborhoods. In addition to excellent transit options, the area was packed with amenities like grocery stores, restaurants, parks, and even shopping malls – all within a short walking distance.
The hotel offers a straightforward experience, but what it lacks in modern updates, it compensates with comfort and functionality. Although some parts of the hotel could use a refresh, our rooms were spacious and clean, meeting our basic needs for the stay. We found the staff friendly and helpful, ensuring we had a pleasant stay.
While not the most luxurious choice, Hotel Belvedere turned out to be a practical and affordable stay with great access to both central and local areas of Prague. For travelers who value convenience and functionality over extravagance, it’s an option worth considering.
St. Vitus Cathedral and Viewing Tower in Prague
| Churches and Monasteries | 47 seen
In mid-October 2024, we took a family trip to the charming city of Prague. With so much to see and do, we had a packed itinerary, but it was during one of our casual walks around the city that we stumbled upon a true gem — St. Vitus Cathedral. Located within the grounds of Prague Castle, the cathedral’s Gothic towers immediately captured our attention.
And while we didn’t initially plan on visiting, the sight was so captivating that we couldn’t resist exploring it.
St. Vitus Cathedral, officially known as the Metropolitan Cathedral of Saints Vitus, Wenceslaus, and Adalbert, is a masterpiece of Gothic architecture and one of the most important religious sites in the Czech Republic. Towering above the Prague skyline, its striking spires are hard to miss from various vantage points around the city. The cathedral’s storied history, dating back to the 14th century, is evident in its intricate stained glass, ornate facades, and solemn, imposing aura. Stepping inside, we were immediately struck by the sheer grandeur of the structure.
Our unexpected visit felt like stepping back in time. From the impressive tomb of St. Wenceslas to the stunning stained-glass windows created by celebrated Czech artist Alphonse Mucha, every corner of St. Vitus seemed to hold a piece of history. However, it wasn’t just the cathedral’s beauty that held our attention.
The highlight of our impromptu visit for our family was undoubtedly the cathedral's south tower. Rising 97 meters into the air, the tower offers a panoramic view over Prague, but getting there is no easy feat. For our kiddo, the climb up the tower was a thrilling adventure — and even for us adults, it was a bit of a workout! The journey involved ascending a spiral staircase of over 280 steps. It was narrow, winding, and at times a bit dizzying, but the enthusiasm was contagious, especially as we got closer to the top.
The view from the top was well worth the effort. From the viewing tower, we could see the sprawling city of Prague, with its red-roofed buildings, charming bridges, and the scenic Vltava River. It was breathtaking, and being able to share the moment together made it all the more special. Our kiddo, who loves heights, was particularly excited — pointing out landmarks we had seen from ground level and marveling at the sheer distance we had climbed.
St. Vitus Cathedral is not only a stunning landmark but also a place of great historical significance. It is the final resting place of many Bohemian kings and Holy Roman Emperors, and it’s where Czech kings were crowned for centuries. Its architecture is a testament to centuries of dedication and craftsmanship, with each section showcasing different styles as construction continued over hundreds of years.
The intricate details, like the rose window at the entrance, the spires reaching toward the sky, and the delicate patterns on the stonework, make St. Vitus a true marvel. And yet, the cathedral’s ambiance remains solemn and respectful, a reminder of its long-standing role in the city’s religious and cultural history.
If you find yourself in Prague, St. Vitus Cathedral is a must-visit — especially for families or those looking to take in spectacular views. Even if you stumble upon it by chance, as we did, it’s worth taking the time to explore. Whether you’re drawn to history, architecture, or simply want to get a bird’s-eye view of Prague, the cathedral and its viewing tower offer something for everyone. Just be prepared for the climb, and take your time to soak in every detail.
Our unplanned adventure at St. Vitus Cathedral ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. It reminded us that sometimes, the best travel experiences come when you least expect them.
Running the Tbilisi Trails: A Challenging 10K at Tsodoreti Lake and a Memorable After-Party
| Living in Georgia | 31 seen
Our latest video from the Tsodoreti Lake race is finally out, capturing some memorable moments from one of the most challenging and scenic runs I've done in recent years. In mid-June 2024, I joined the Tbilisi Trails event, running a 10K to represent TerraMatris alongside friends from Caucasus Translations and several families from the British International School of Tbilisi (BIST). While we all expected some good physical exertion, the reality of the course was far more intense than most of us anticipated.
The race around Tsodoreti Lake was as beautiful as it was grueling. Starting off in the serene surroundings of the lake, the trail wound through rugged paths, forested inclines, and muddy tracks, pushing every runner to their limit. I knew it would be a demanding race, but I was surprised at how tough it became—my finishing time clocked in at about 1 hour and 40 minutes, marking my slowest 10K to date. For context, my typical 10K time is far faster, so this was a real lesson in endurance and humility. The path tested not only physical endurance but also mental resilience, reminding me that nature has a way of setting its own rules and rhythm, no matter how much we prepare.
As the day went on, it was clear I wasn't alone in feeling the physical toll of the race. Many from the TerraMatris and Caucasus Translations groups, along with friends from BIST, found the 10K trail harder than expected. But despite our fatigue, the sense of accomplishment and camaraderie among us was palpable. We had all pushed ourselves in different ways, and in the end, there was a shared sense of victory, regardless of finishing times.
The after-party that followed was exactly what we needed to wrap up the day on a high note.
We had brought a mix of refreshments, and it wasn’t long before the kids were off in the fields, running their own “mini races” with all the energy they still had left, while the adults soaked in the relaxing atmosphere. The vibe was perfect for unwinding, and the conversations reminded me why these kinds of events matter beyond the physical aspect. They create memories, strengthen connections, and remind us to appreciate the journey, not just the finish line.
To capture the spirit of the day, we made a video showcasing the highs and lows of the race, the determination on the trail, and the joy of the after-party. It’s a compilation of all the best moments: the challenging climbs, the smiles, and laughs shared among friends, and the picturesque landscape of Tsodoreti Lake. Whether you’re a seasoned runner or just someone who appreciates the beauty of Georgia’s natural landscapes, this video is worth a watch. So, enjoy, and if you feel inspired, give it a thumbs up!
Review: Art Hotel Prague – A Cozy Stay in a Tranquil Part of Prague
| Hotel reviews | 28 seen
During our recent trip to Prague in October 2024, we opted for a one-night stay at the Art Hotel Prague. We arrived at the hotel via Bolt taxi from Václav Havel Airport, which was straightforward and efficient. At about EUR 120 per room per night, the Art Hotel offered a comfortable yet reasonably priced stay, and we booked directly through the hotel’s website. We also had to pay a small city tax upon check-out.
The Art Hotel is nestled in a quiet and prestigious residential neighborhood, providing a peaceful retreat that still offers easy access to Prague’s iconic spots. The historic center is within walking distance, taking roughly 20 minutes on foot, though we found taking a taxi around the city to be more convenient. Additionally, tram stops nearby provide easy access to popular landmarks for those looking to explore on a budget.
We booked two rooms for our stay, as one of our office staff was traveling with us. The majority of the rooms offer scenic views of Prague, including partial views of the iconic Prague Castle, while others overlook the garden area, creating a lovely green ambiance. A permanent collection of Czech modern art enhances the rooms, featuring works from artists like Jan and Pravoslav Kotík, Pavel Roučka, and Pavel Štecha.
While our overall experience was positive, a few minor issues stood out. The room we booked did not include the sofa bed for our child as requested, which was a minor inconvenience. Additionally, the selection of television channels was limited, which, although not a major issue, can be helpful when traveling with children.
One of the standout aspects of Art Hotel Prague is the inclusion of Czech modern art. The lobby and rooms feature original artwork that contributes to the hotel’s artistic ambiance. The hotel is close to the National Gallery, the National Technical Museum, and two well-known parks, which are ideal for families looking to unwind without diving into the city bustle.
The complimentary wireless internet was reliable and quick, ensuring we could stay connected during our stay. A highlight of our visit was the breakfast, which offered a good variety of options and made for a great start to the day.
Art Hotel Prague offered us a comfortable, culturally rich experience in Prague’s quieter side. Its proximity to parks, museums, and key city landmarks makes it an ideal option for those looking to explore Prague’s artistic and cultural offerings.
Foraging for Mushrooms near Tsodoreti Lake: A Day in the Suburbs of Tbilisi
| Living in Georgia | 133 seen
Back in June 2024, I first came across Tsodoreti Lake during one of the Tbilisi Trails races, which turned out to be one of the most challenging runs of my life. While I tackled the 10K trail route, my partner and our kiddo took a gentler 7K path. But even with the varied distances, we all agreed on one thing—Tsodoreti Lake and its surrounding woods had a unique charm.
As we caught our breath by the lake, my partner made a casual yet intriguing remark: "This place might be good for mushrooms." That one sentence planted a seed, and it stayed with us. It’s a classic Georgian forest—dense, wild, and seemingly untouched—a perfect place for mushroom foraging.
Late October felt like the ideal time to return and explore Tsodoreti for mushrooms. The autumn colors painted the forest in warm shades of amber and crimson, and we came prepared with small baskets, ready to dive into a day of foraging. As with any mushroom hunt, our mission was half excitement, half learning. There’s an undeniable thrill to wandering through nature, scanning the forest floor, and stumbling upon something unexpected.
We began our adventure with a few findings, modest yet intriguing. At first, the mushrooms we picked were humble and hard to identify. With a bit of help from Google and AI-powered identification apps, we learned that we’d collected Deer Mushrooms and a few other species unfamiliar to us. It was fascinating to see how technology could deepen our connection to nature; we could learn about each mushroom species in real-time, discovering its characteristics and culinary possibilities.
Our kiddo, filled with energy and curiosity, played a crucial role in the day's adventure—though some of their findings managed to get "lost" on the trails as quickly as they were found! For a young explorer, each mushroom seemed like a precious gem, eagerly shown to us before wandering off in excitement and leaving a trail of abandoned mushrooms along the path.
By mid-afternoon, we found a quiet spot near the lake, where the views of Tbilisi’s suburbs peeked through the trees, the reflection of autumn colors dancing on the lake's surface. We enjoyed the serene environment, taking in the crisp, fresh air, and watching the late-afternoon sun cast a warm glow over the water. For a moment, the city's hustle felt miles away, replaced by the gentle hum of nature and the simple satisfaction of foraging.
Foraging in Tsodoreti turned out to be more than just a day of mushroom hunting. It became a shared experience, a chance to explore Georgia’s nature in its rawest form and pass on a love of the outdoors to our child.
For anyone in Tbilisi looking to experience a slice of nature, Tsodoreti Lake offers a unique blend of adventure, relaxation, and discovery—a perfect day trip to escape the city and maybe even bring home a few edible finds!
Axel Georgian Business Angel Networking Event: Exploring Opportunities in Tbilisi
| Living in Georgia | 43 seen
In mid-October 2024, I had the pleasure of attending the Axel Georgian Business Angel networking event, held right here in Tbilisi. Having passively observed the Georgian tech scene for over a decade, this event provided the perfect platform to witness firsthand the innovation and ambition fueling the local startup ecosystem.
With TerraMatris Crypto Hedge Fund now in full swing, my focus has shifted to both raising capital and scouting promising investment opportunities—be it over centralized or decentralized exchanges (CEX or DEX). The timing for such an event couldn't have been better.
The evening kicked off with an electric atmosphere of pitches and networking. Entrepreneurs passionately presented their ideas, and the energy in the room was contagious. One standout was Sergi, who pitched his Tata app, a promising project with potential. It’s always refreshing to see such talent emerging from Georgia, a country that has consistently shown resilience and growth in the tech space over the years.
Though I haven't yet become a member of the AXEL network, the thought of becoming an Angel investor in Georgia is something I’ve considered for a long time. With TerraMatris expanding, it feels like the right moment to connect more deeply with the local scene. I’m eager to see where this journey leads, both in terms of raising capital and identifying the next big thing in Georgian tech.
The evening was not all about business, though. I enjoyed some fine Scotch whiskey and shared thoughts with my partner in crime, reflecting on the potential Georgia holds. The event offered an exciting glimpse into the future, and I left feeling optimistic about the road ahead. Let’s see what the future brings.
For now, I’ll continue to observe, network, and raise—but the idea of officially joining the AXEL network and becoming an active player in Georgia’s investment landscape is more appealing than ever.
